Friday night is sorted. The Celebrity Traitors series 2 episode 8 airs tonight at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer β€” and if you've been anywhere near X today, you'll know #CelebrityTraitors is the UK's top trend again. Here's everything you need: tonight's episode time, a recap of episode 7, the full series 2 schedule, and who's left fighting for the Β£100,000 charity prize.

Is Celebrity Traitors on tonight? Yes β€” episode 8 airs at 8pm

Episode 8 of The Celebrity Traitors series 2 airs tonight, Friday 23 October 2026, at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The series runs twice a week on Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm β€” so episode 7 aired last night, and episode 8 follows tonight.

There are only three episodes left after tonight. The remaining Celebrity Traitors series 2 schedule is:

  • Episode 9: Thursday 29 October 2026, 8pm
  • Episode 10 (the finale): Friday 30 October 2026, 8pm

Series 2 has ten episodes β€” one more than series 1 β€” and the finale lands just in time for Halloween weekend.

Celebrity Traitors episode 7 recap: what happened last night

Spoilers ahead for episode 7. Last night's episode continued the fallout from the Traitors' latest murder, and the round table turned predictably savage. Richard E. Grant is still recovering from his early blunder, while Ross Kemp's paranoia has become one of the running jokes of the series.

The missions have been the standout this series. Sebastian Croft's now-iconic dash through the water has already become one of the most meme'd moments of the series β€” and the castle missions have kept the Traitors' identity-guessing game deliciously messy.

Who's left in Celebrity Traitors series 2?

The 21 contestants who started at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands were: Amol Rajan, Bella Ramsey, James Acaster, James Blunt, Jerry Hall, Joanne McNally, Joe Lycett, Julie Hesmondhalgh, King Kenny, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Maya Jama, Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart, Myha'la, Professor Hannah Fry, Richard E. Grant, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp, Sebastian Croft and Sharon Rooney.

The Traitors were chosen by Claudia Winkleman at the start β€” and viewers are only now finding out how she picked them, in the new iPlayer spin-off Traitor or Faithful? Claudia Decides. The aftershow The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked, hosted by comedian Ed Gamble, runs after the main show with banished and murdered players spilling the details.

The Joe Marler and Celia Imrie "so rude" rule

One of the week's best off-screen stories comes from series 1 finalist Joe Marler. The former England rugby player, 36, told Celia Imrie, 74, on his podcast Joe Marler Will See You Now that producers ordered him not to speak to a mystery co-star before filming β€” an instruction he called "so rude."

He recalled climbing into a Land Rover with his face covered, hearing the door open, and giggling as he realised his silent companion was Celia Imrie. "It's Celia Imrie," he said he thought. Imrie, for her part, remembered that "the minute you see me, you start laughing."

Imrie was murdered in plain sight by series 1 winner Alan Carr β€” who delivered a toast quoting "parting is such sweet sorrow" before revealing her as his victim. She also gave the series its most replayed moment: passing wind during a tense cabin mission and announcing to Claudia Winkleman, "I just farted, Claudia. It's nerves, but I always own up."

Why Celebrity Traitors series 2 is even bigger than series 1

Series 1 averaged 14.9 million viewers across all episodes, with a 15.4 million peak for the finale β€” numbers most drama commissioners would weep for. The formula is simple: put famous people in a freezing castle in the Scottish Highlands, give Claudia Winkleman a trench coat and some very precise instructions, and watch trust dissolve over dinner.

The prize is up to Β£100,000 for a charity of the winners' choice, which keeps the whole thing feeling properly high-stakes rather than just celebrity silliness. Though honestly, even the silliness is elite: Maya Jama giggling in a Traitors jeep, Richard E. Grant making what the internet has already decided was "that blunder" β€” it's appointment telly.

My take? The Thursday-Friday double-header format is the smartest thing the BBC has done with the show. It means the memes don't have time to cool off between episodes β€” #CelebrityTraitors trending overnight is now a weekly ritual. Tonight's episode 8 should move the game into the sharp end, with the faithful finally starting to land banishments that matter.
